Generation Two
For longer range rim and centrefire use, Gen.2 is the natural progression, with 100M plus target recognition and bullet placement, especially with additional infra-red illumination. Generally rifle mounted scope solutions; Gen.2 is the favourite of many fox shooters using moderated .22 class rifles. Better performance comes at an increased price, with budgets around the £2000 mark.
Generation Three
Essentially, the highest rated NV image tubes available to the non-military user. Incredible night time performance, giving clear viewing and observation to 4-500 metres under optimum conditions. The choice of the professional fox controller. Rifle mounted scope solutions can be several thousands of pounds, so we demonstrate these solutions here on site, to ensure they match exactly with your demanding requirements.
Digital
The next ‘generation’ of NV. Infra-red sensitive digital circuitry is used to collect infra-red light and transport it onto an LCD screen, to be viewed by the user. Due to the lack of an image intensifying tube, and the falling cost of electronic components, Digital solutions can offer almost Gen.2 performance, at half the cost. The latest units from Yukon and Pulsar offer excellent performance out to 100metres, both in monocular and scope mounted solutions. With our rural setting, we can offer a ‘Try before you Buy’ service here on site, either in our dark Cotswold barn or outdoors after dark, to fully demonstrate the performance of these units.
We carry in stock units from Yukon, Cobra and Pulsar – leaders in the NV technology industry.

Night Vision
Technical expertise is, as ever, one of our many strengths here at the Gloucestershire Gun Company. As ‘predator’ and ‘varmint’ shooting becomes more popular and the hunter looks at ever more efficient means of dealing with problem pests – Night Vision has become the latest growth area.
Coupled with our knowledge and understanding of rim and centrefire rifles, we carry an excellent range of night shooting solutions – both traditional ‘lamping’ equipment and cutting edge NV equipment, both Digital and Image Intensifier.
Generation One
In short, Gen.1 is the starter platform for many night shooters. With a basic image intensifier tube, this shall give a useable range of approximately 50 metres – ideal for the rat and rabbit shooter, the favourite of many airgunners on a budget. For a monocular, expect to pay from £195 to around £500 for a rifle based scope unit.
